PATHWAY – Science education through inquiry in schools, museums and informal learning
PATHWAY aims to facilitate the wide adoption of Inquiry Based Science Education (IBSE) in schools, museums and informal learning settings across Europe and beyond.
The project is developing guidance, professional development, and case studies of effective practice for teachers on inquiry-based science teaching.
Futurelab, together with the University of Cambridge, are seeking active education practitioners to join the PATHWAY UK community of practice.
As a PATHWAY UK community practitioner you will:
- Be invited to attend free IBSE professional development and networking events
- Have access to IBSE teaching resources and materials
- Receive updates on IBSE in the UK and Europe
To join the PATHWAY UK community please visit our PATHWAY UK webpage (http://www.pathwayuk.org.uk) and complete the contact form, or just click here: http://www.pathwayuk.org.uk/join-the-community.html
Pathway is a major European funded project involving partners from 15 countries.
Outdoor environment-based inquiry project
Futurelab are also currently seeking teachers (primary and secondary) in the Bristol area who would be interested in being involved in a project to explore outdoor environment-based science inquiry.
This project will provide professional development for teachers to make links between classroom science and 'real-world' science by undertaking curriculum-linked inquiry activities in outdoor settings.
If you are interested in being involved in the outdoor environment-based inquiry project please contact Sarah Payton: sarah.payton@futurelab.org.uk
